Omron’s new E2E and E2EQ NEXT Series proximity sensors provide a reliable, efficient sensing solution, helping you enhance your industrial automation processes. They also feature nearly double the sensing distance of previous models and include IO-Link as a standard feature, simplifying integration and enhancing functionality. Here’s a rundown of the features and benefits of these proximity sensors.
Exceptional sensing range. E2E/E2EQ NEXT Series sensors have a longer detection range than previous models, enabling flexible designs with a lower risk of collision. This feature is crucial in reducing unexpected facility stoppages due to collisions and false detections. Avoiding false detections previously involved adopting sensor installation designs that risked contact. The E2E/E2EQ NEXT sensors can detect accurately from a greater distance, which means you can adopt designs with more space and less risk of contact.
Standardized design. The E2E/E2EQ NEXT sensors achieve an equivalent sensing distance while being one size smaller than previous models, allowing you to install them in spaces too big for conventional sensors. In addition, equipment and facilities formerly designed with sensors of multiple sizes can now have sensors that are all the same size, enabling you to standardize your designs.
Advanced temperature control. Sensors feature Thermal Distance Control 2 technology, which addresses the increased sensitivity and temperature fluctuations for proximity sensors with longer sensing distances. This technology provides in-line measurements of each sensor’s temperature characteristics, ensuring minimal variance in sensing performance due to environmental changes.
Easy visibility and installation. E2E/E2EQ NEXT Series sensors feature a bright, 360-degree LED indicator visible from all angles, reducing the time required for operation checks. In addition, the use of an e-jig for sensor installation simplifies the replacement process, making sensor upgrades easy and fast — only 10 seconds.
Condition monitoring capabilities. Because they’re compatible with IO-Link, E2E/E2EQ NEXT sensors let you unlock condition monitoring and failure detection capabilities, which in turn contribute to your plant’s predictive maintenance efforts.
Durability in harsh environments. E2EQ NEXT sensors extend the capabilities of E2E NEXT sensors by incorporating features suited for harsher environments. These devices have a fluororesin coating to withstand spatter. They also come in models with double and triple distance ranges with spatter-resistant capabilities.
