Spotlighting SMC’s Compact Chemical Liquid Valves — Including New Features

Perfect for semiconductor and laboratory automation applications, SMC’s JLV20/30/50 Series of high-purity air-operated chemical valves are designed to suppress the harmful generation of particles in a reduced footprint. Depending on the body class, valves feature a 20-percent reduction in valve width and 45-percent reduction in mounting pitch compared to previous models. The JLV50 Series is now also available in body class 5.

In addition, the JLV20/30/50 Series incorporates a special structure that reduces impact when the valve is closed. Optimizing the pilot air exhaust, the valve reduces the closing speed just before the poppet hits the orifice, reducing impact energy by 90 percent.

Additional features include the following:

  • Chemical-resistant materials, including PVDF (actuator section), PTFE (poppet), new PFA (body) and PVDF (end plate).
  • An indicator that provides visual confirmation of the valve’s open or closed status.
  • LQ3 Hyperflare™ Fittings with flare-type collet and triple-seal construction.
  • RoHS compliance.

JLV20/30/50 Series valves are ideal for applications that require high pressure/back pressure. Their operating pressure range — 0 to 0.5 megapascal (MPa) — offers an improvement of 66 percent compared to existing models.
